My work focuses on statistical phylogenetic inference, in particular on models of molecular evolution and fast, heuristic maximum-likelihood algorithms. I write and maintain the tree-inference software GARLI (Genetic Algorithm for Rapid Likelihood Inference).
GARLI is usable on all operating systems, and is available via its GoogleCode page
here
.
Extensive GARLI documentation is available
here
.
An experimental GARLI version that allows partitioned likelihood models is available
here
.
See
this page
for a discussion of a simple way of using partitioned GARLI to incorporate gap information (indels) into ML phylogenetic analyses.
